Comments: Swim was much longer than 2 weeks ago. Got into a good pace right from the start, unfortunately I couldn't find any feet to latch on to. Every time I looked up to sight it looked like the whole field was in front of me, so I was pretty surprised I finished 18th What would you do differently?: Not get kicked in the head in the last 10 yards. I ended up standing up way to early and lost some time. Transition 1
Comments: I know I can go faster than this, wetsuit got stuck around the chip. Bike
Comments: Time includes a long run from the dismount area to the timing mat. I was 1:04 faster than 2 weeks ago. Still think I can push it more up Jones Hollow Road. Transition 2
Comments: Got a cramp in my right calf putting my shoes and socks on. Need to think about getting lace locks Run
Comments: Funny how I think running is my strongest leg, and swimming my weakest, set I place way better on the swim leg. Didn't really have anyone to chase down, everyone was pretty spread out. Came out of transition with the first place woman, and stayed with her pretty much the whole run (we got passed by two other women about miles in). Faster by 37 seconds than 2 weeks ago. What would you do differently?: I just need to suck it up and push harder. Post race
Warm down: Chatted with friends and gathered up my stuff Event comments: Overall I improved 4 spots from 2 weeks ago, and finished better in my age group. I had both faster bike and run splits as well. If they had split the age groups into 5 year brackets, I would have finished second, losing only to the guy who finished 2 OA.
