Swim
Comments: Overall I stuck to my swim plan. Start in back keep out of way for faster swimmers. I started a little fast so after rounding first bouy I slowed down to control my pace. I had a lot of trouble sighting back to the beach from second bouy. I think it would have been good to have a third bouy to sight to back near the beach What would you do differently?: Pick a good landmark to sight to at beach Transition 1
Bike
Comments: Time includes T1 and T2. Overall I was happy with my bike. My legs felt good out of the water and I was able to pass a lot of people. I pushed fairly hard on the bike and hoped that it would hurt me too bad on the run. What would you do differently?: Push a little harder on the last climb of the race Transition 2
Run
Comments: I had a cramp for the 1st half of the run. I am not sure why (this doesn't usally happen to me). Overall I took it easy to the turn around and then picked it up for the last half of the run. I had a goal of to finish total time of less than 1:30 so I pushed a little to try to do that. I don't think I could have run faster (I'm a slow runner!!). I was happy with my time since this was full minute faster than my PR for a stand-alone 5K. My 4 year old son ran the last 50 feet with me so this was pretty exciting. What would you do differently?: Not much Post race
Warm down: Walk around, drank lots of water and cheered for the other racers. Event comments: Overall I think the race was really organized well (although this was my 1st tri). I really liked the event and can't wait to do another tri. Last updated: 2009-07-11 12:00 AM
