Event warmup:

Swam a little to get wet as first race in opern water. Really nervous as it look slike a long swim.

Comments:

Very congested at first buoy turn. Some of the olympic distance athletes caught up on second lap. Almost treaded water around the buoy and i remembr one moment of panic where I thought I wouldn't make it. Once I rounded the first buoy though, things opened up and it was quite a good swim aftr that. Considering I just learned to swim, okay.
What would you do differently?:

Swung wide on buoys to avoid some people. WOuld probably be better with more experience and navigate a little better line.

Got my wetsuit off surprisingly easy. head up when mounting bike..... person beside me hit a parked car.

First time driving on highway so a little shaky. Don't have a bike computer so when no one to chase found myself daydreaming a bit.

get a bike computer so I know how fast I'm going so as not to slack off.

Legs took awhile to stabilize.... probably could have gone harder but always seem to be concerned with running out of steam before the finish.
What would you do differently?:

Push harder on the run.

Swim was congested so not the most comfortable race...... also seemed to be less beginners compared to some of the other races.
