Swim
Comments: The swim was horrible. The current combined with the chop kick my butt. I felt like I was fighting the water the entire swim. This swim was 10 min slower than my swim last year. Not good. What would you do differently?: Focus more on swim during training. Transition 1
Comments: I took my time trying to recover from the brutal swim. What would you do differently?: Speed up the entire process Bike
Comments: It started to rain pretty good at about the halfway point. This was a comfortable pace which helped me later in the run. This bike was 6min slower than last year. What would you do differently?: Train more on the bike. Transition 2
Comments: Due to the weather conditions my run bib had blown several feet from the rest of my gear so it took me a little bit to find it. I was planning on changing into dry shoes but it was still raining pretty good so I left my shoes on that were already soaked. What would you do differently?: Secure my run bib so it does not blow away. Speed up the entire process. Run
Comments: I felt really good on the run. The rain seemed to help keep me cool and I drank at every aid station. I slowed down but did not walk at all. I was extremely disappointed that they had no enduralytes on the run course. I thought for sure that this was going to come back and bite me but it did not. What would you do differently?: Bring my own enduralytes. Post race
Warm down: Walked around. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training and weather/water conditions. Event comments: Absolutely could have used enduralytes on the run! Last updated: 2009-07-12 12:00 AM

I could not make it to the pre-race meetings on Friday due to sick kids and wife. So, I woke up at 3:30am and drove up race day morning for packet pickup. I ate 2 pieces of bread with peanut butter and a couple cups of coffee during my 90min drive. I got to the race about 5:30am and had plenty of time to set everything up.
I stretched for about 5 minutes.
