Pre-race routine:

I could not make it to the pre-race meetings on Friday due to sick kids and wife. So, I woke up at 3:30am and drove up race day morning for packet pickup. I ate 2 pieces of bread with peanut butter and a couple cups of coffee during my 90min drive. I got to the race about 5:30am and had plenty of time to set everything up.
Event warmup:

I stretched for about 5 minutes.
Swim
  • 51m 5s
  • 2112 yards
  • 02m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

The swim was horrible. The current combined with the chop kick my butt. I felt like I was fighting the water the entire swim. This swim was 10 min slower than my swim last year. Not good.
What would you do differently?:

Focus more on swim during training.
Transition 1
  • 06m 5s
Comments:

I took my time trying to recover from the brutal swim.
What would you do differently?:

Speed up the entire process
Bike
  • 3h 05m 58s
  • 56 miles
  • 18.07 mile/hr
Comments:

It started to rain pretty good at about the halfway point. This was a comfortable pace which helped me later in the run. This bike was 6min slower than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Train more on the bike.
Transition 2
  • 05m 35s
Comments:

Due to the weather conditions my run bib had blown several feet from the rest of my gear so it took me a little bit to find it. I was planning on changing into dry shoes but it was still raining pretty good so I left my shoes on that were already soaked.
What would you do differently?:

Secure my run bib so it does not blow away. Speed up the entire process.
Run
  • 1h 55m 5s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 47s  min/mile
Comments:

I felt really good on the run. The rain seemed to help keep me cool and I drank at every aid station. I slowed down but did not walk at all. I was extremely disappointed that they had no enduralytes on the run course. I thought for sure that this was going to come back and bite me but it did not.
What would you do differently?:

Bring my own enduralytes.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training and weather/water conditions.

Event comments:

Absolutely could have used enduralytes on the run!
