![]() Swim
Comments: Strange swim, I thought I had a better swim than I did. It was hard to sight once you made the first turn, directly into the sun. Then it was just follow the masses and hope everyone else was going in the right direction. What would you do differently?: Sight better, tinted goggles. ![]() Transition 1
Comments: Good T1, tied for 1st in AG ![]() Bike
Comments: I think it was a good bike for me, some of the hills were challenging. Passed by 2 guys in my AG, considering I have no hills to train on I was not unhappy with the bike. What would you do differently?: Simulate some hill workouts. ![]() Transition 2
Comments: Good trasition, second fastest in my AG ![]() Run
Comments: Holy crap, that was the hardest 5k course I have ever done, triathlon or not. I think the only flat section was coming out of the TA and over the bridge. There were 2 guys in my AG right in front of me, we were separated by about 20 seconds but I could not close the gap. What would you do differently?: Run more hills. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Quick jump in the lake, then had to go out and pick up the cones. What limited your ability to perform faster: This was not an A race for me, so I did not taper or cut back last week on training, so overall I was pretty happy with the results, 2-3 minutes off of 3rd place. Event comments: The volunteers were awesome at this race, beautifull venue for the race, but maybe some tweaks to the bike course could make it even better. Last updated: 2009-07-14 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:30, packed the truck and went to the race site. Ate a bagel with honey, gatorade and cup of coffee. Started setting cones at 5:45. Ate a bannana around 6:30, more gatorade.
I'll call setting up cones my warmup, between setting and chasing the truck for about a mile. Finished about 7:45, set up my TA and went to the swim start.
