Swim
Comments: Not my best swim but not my worst either. I started a little closer to the group this time and took in a lot of water because of it. My navigation was off - somehow - even though I was in the main pack. I veering off to the side even with bilat breathing. Things went better after rounding the first buoy. drafting even worked better. Swam in as shallow as I could get. Stood up and started stripping and popped the rest of my suit off in ankle deep water What would you do differently?: I didn't have much deep water swimming practice since Steelhead and I think that may have had an effect on me. Transition 1
Comments: A decent transition for me. I'm starting to convince myself that I need to stop wearing socks for sprint tris. What would you do differently?: Socks? I didn't wash my feet as well as I could/should have. otherwise nothing Bike
Comments: I was just not feeling it today. I couldn't get my legs under me to maintain my normal pace. It could have been better had I had a good day. What would you do differently?: I think race week prep was a factor Transition 2
Comments: Another decent transition. I put my wetsuit on the rack so it drained right into my shoes though. Speed laces are good for me during sprints. What would you do differently?: Nothing other than not put my wetsuit over my shoes Run
Comments: An ok run even though I felt tired and heavy. I did not have any quickness in my legs at all. I think I maintained my turnover fairly well, but fatigue had taken its toll. I ran through the aid stations and only took a sipto wet my mouth. I nearly choked the first time. What would you do differently?: nothing except rinse my feet better in T1 so there aren't little boulders in my socks Post race
Warm down: Food and drink - the usual. Waited for other friends to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: Fatigue from the previous week. Poor consistency of workouts, travel, and stress. Most beyond my control. I'm glad this wasn't an A race. Event comments: Pint glasses for AG awards and overall winners get a free entry, pint glass, framed certificate, bottle of wine. This is definately a first rate event that will certainly grow in the coming years. Organizers did a GREAT job in their first year. Last updated: 2009-07-14 12:00 AM

Woke up early, took a salt tab with a glass of water. Walked the dogs for about 10 minutes. Ate a mini bagel with cream cheese. On the drive to the race site I ate a lemon poppyseed muffin - slowly. I drank more waterand made a couple potty breaks. I was the first athlete at the race site. I took my time setting upmy stuff. I'm glad I remembered my flashlight.
