Swim
Comments: Swim appeared short but that's okay with me. Also the bouys were moved closer to shore. Lots of people standing up. Okay I may stood up once or twice. My first draft was to slow so I passed him my second draft got tired and stood up. My third was about my speed. Hey sounds like the 3 little bears. Wetsuit chaffed me again but not bad. I always eat a gel 15 min before swim and it helps. What would you do differently?: Not draft and go on my own. I feel stronger now but lack the confidence. More lube on neck, maybe cut off neck part on wetsuit. Transition 1
Comments: Way back Coach Brett taught me to leave shoes on bike and it always pays off. There about 4 guys in my row already done with swimming but I beat them by not having to put on my shoes. Of course they pass me on the bike. What would you do differently?: more lube on heels and arms Bike
Comments: I took it easy for about 2 miles then I started to crank it up. I remembered to drink and eat this time. Many people were still riding on left when not passing. Lots of drafting and blocking but I was able to go around. I saw the referee give out penalties to a big group of people that were drafting and blocking. I think they thought they were in the Tour de France. Eat Power bar 240 Cal. 2 gels and tons of heed and 1 18oz bottle of Gatorade Endurance. What would you do differently?: not sure Transition 2
Comments: Put socks on and shoes and go. Decided not to wear a visor. Also decided to wear my race belt with a a little bag to carry fuel. It ended up being a pain in the butt. Little mistake. What would you do differently?: go faster Run
Comments: Right away I had to pee and saw a girl run into some bushes so I followed but found my own spot. Then Later I had to pee again and was able to find a port a potty empty. I cramped slightly going up the big hill and walked it off. I believe it was the after effect from hammering on the bike. I was able to recover and slowly gained speed. 2 gels 2 endurlytes, 4 or 6 tumms and some heed and water. What would you do differently?: I guess I could have pushed harder but feared cramping like I always do when I push to hard. Post race
Warm down: I went into the lake to wash off the sweat and walked around. Some stretching What limited your ability to perform faster: not sure Event comments: It is always nice to hang out with some many cool athletes. IM here I come! Last updated: 2009-07-15 12:00 AM
