Comments: Wavy! Course was all of 1.2 miles. Nice number of buoys! Except couldn't sight coming into shore - directly into the sun... Transition 1
Comments: Typical transition. Didn't wear socks for the bike. Putting on sock over wet feet is too time consuming for me. Put Powertap HRM on by removing top of one piece suit. That takes time too... Bike
Comments: Didn't get "chicked" on the bike. ;^) Plus held enough in reserve to still run all 13.1 including the hill at mile 9... What would you do differently?: Not much really. I suppose I could have pushed a bit harder but I think my run would have suffered. Transition 2
Comments: Not bad. Changed HRM straps from Powertap to Timex. Put on socks and grabbed several GUs and was off. Need to find a HRM strap that works with both my watch and the PowerTap... What would you do differently?: See above... Run
Comments: Stayed pretty steady right at 9:00 per mile. Slower than last week but I wasn't really pushing (wasn't racing against Karen!). Thought I might have to do some serious walking but I just kept pushing through watching the miles pass trying to keep each under 9:00. What would you do differently?: Not much. Loved having the arm coolers on as they helped a lot... Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: 'B' race so really didn't care too much about time. Thought I might be able to do under 5:10 compared to last weeks 5:14 at Muncie but this course was much harder, at least on the bike (helps that Muncie is about 1.5 miles shorter than this course)... Probably need to make sure I have better fuel options as I relied almost 100% on on-course food/drink... Event comments: Lots of fan support out on both the bike and run! Awesome compared to Muncie last week... Last updated: 2009-07-15 12:00 AM

Usual... Although we had to get up a bit earlier than we might have wanted due to 45 minute drive. Good thing this was a race with a later start time...
