Swim
  • 14m 49s
  • 547 yards
  • 02m 43s / 100 yards
Comments:

OK swimming is a weak, weak event for me. I don't really train for swimming. I just do not have the time for it right now. Anyway, I freestyled maybe half the course, and did this float-on-my-back thingy the rest of the way. I swallowed half of the reservoir at least and started to feel a little nausea right before exiting the water.
What would you do differently?:

I need to swim more. This winter I hope I can settle into a good swim routine. Right now with a seven and one year old, it just does not get priority.
Transition 1
  • 04m 9s
Comments:

Felt really weird coming out of the water. Got a little tipsy and stubled around at first. I took my time up the path to the transition. I don't know if that was included in the swim or T times. Anyway, I took a while because I just had to gather myself.
What would you do differently?:

I feel with more swim fitness, none of this stuff would be an issue.
Bike
  • 43m 40s
  • 12 miles
  • 16.49 mile/hr
Comments:

Cycling seems to be my stonger event for some reason. I passed alot of cats on the hills. I seem to be pretty good at climbing. This course was a bit challenging. Some pretty good hills in succession. I ranged from just under 40 to about 12 miles per hour. Anyway the speed may look slow but I think I did allright.
What would you do differently?:

More bike time.
Transition 2
  • 02m
Comments:

I take too long. Need to move faster.
What would you do differently?:

Ummm move faster.
Run
  • 28m 21s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 09m 09s  min/mile
Comments:

Dissapointed with this run. But, the guy that won my age group did a 22 something. Maybe it was the hills on the course. I ran a 24:30 something at Fort Collins, so this was a huge dropoff.
What would you do differently?:

Just need to become a better runner.
Post race
Warm down:

Driving home.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The fact that I am slow.

Event comments:

For some reason I did not feel very amped about this race. Got alot of things coming up for me, and have a lot of things on my plate right now so maybe that affected me. My training has been a little off for the last month. I just didn't feel that sense of urgency during the race like I did for Fort Collins. Weird. This was my last race for the season so I will take it easy and hit the weights now that my wrist is feeling good (surgery). Start back in Feb or Mar and look at an early 06 race. Mad spect to Ryan (himself) for puttin me up for the night. Deciding to not drive down the day of the race was the best decision I made. And the wetsuit :)
