Comments:

One at a time every 3-4 seconds. A good way to start, in my opinion. First leg headed straight into the sun, which made sighting a bit difficult.

Rocks on the exit made that tough.

Wet suit strippers were great. I was a wet suit stripee virgin and they were very gentle. It saved at least a few seconds on the transition!
Transition 1
  • 02m 38s
Comments:

Ovrall a good transition. Opted for no socks - probaby saving a half minute or more. Quite a haul from the beach up to the transition area, though...
Bike
  • 39m 40s
  • 12 miles
  • 18.15 mile/hr
Comments:

A good bike...SO much easier than the Oly distance. Just getting warmed up and then it's over! A good jaunt.
Transition 2
  • 01m 26s
Comments:

Initially put the bike in the rack front wheel first. It seemed unstable, so after a few seconds of trying to stabilize, I opted to take it out, turn it around, and rack it with the rear wheel first. Live and learn...should have done that at the start. Cost me about 15 seconds. Opted for no socks for the run...
Run
  • 30m 27s
  • 3.17 miles
  • 09m 37s  min/mile
Comments:

I'm still not a very good runner. The 9:36/mile pace was my best yet in a tri, but I still lost a tone of ground to competitors. It's just not my strength, but I need to improve.

Event comments:

A great race...very well organized. Highly recommend it. I'll be back next year.
