Swim
Comments: I had not done any swimming since last August so I can't complain about my performance. It wasn't terrible but I sure was working hard at it. I was in the last wave #16 so I was swimming over a few people and many doing the side stroke, treading water, etc... What would you do differently?: TRAIN!! Transition 1
Comments: I was a little light headed as I came out of the water. Maybe lack of any swimming :-) but I still managed to jog into transition. Always takes me a little while to get the feet dry, socks on, and into the shoes. Bike
Transition 2
What would you do differently?: I don't think I could have done anything different. I felt pretty good coming off the bike. My legs were not tired. Maybe I could have pushed more on the bike. Who knows? Run
Comments: For some reason this 2.5 miles felt like a long time. I am used to running approximately 25 miles a week but about a half a mile into it, I felt like I should be turning around anytime. It was good though. It was fun to pass some people here. I guess that's one good thing about starting in the last wave, you're beating anyone you pass. Post race
Warm down: Walked around with my family. My mom and dad came to cheer us on along with my husband and two girls. Teenage son decided 5:15 was just too early to get up to watch his mom compete. Event comments: Well organized. I have always heard good things about HOLT so I was glad to have the opportunity to participte. I was glad the day had the weather it did. The two days prior to it had been cool (65, 70) with lots of clouds and wind. Today was gorgeous. It started off cool (50) but when the sun came out, it was PERFECT! Last updated: 2009-07-17 12:00 AM
