Swim
Comments: Swim was very easy. Had no problems with other swimmers. Caught several people in the first wave What would you do differently?: Push my pace a little bit harder. Transition 1
Comments: Had trouble getting my shirt on properlly. What would you do differently?: Buy a tri shirt. Better shoes to slip on would help as well. Bike
Comments: Confusing as to what position you are in as the duathalon racers were on their bikes at the same time. Passed some road bikes on flats and hills. What would you do differently?: Push harder as this was a slow ride compared to my times during practice at this course. Adjust my tapering to one day off before race as my legs were "laggy". Need to buy a road or tri bike as mountain bike proved to be quite heavy and gearing comparisons sucked. Transition 2
Comments: Neighbour dumped his wetsuit on my shoes, socks, and hat. Made a mess and really slowed me down. Hat was soaked and socks were damp and dirty. What would you do differently?: Walk it off, there is nothing you can do about this! Run
Comments: Again, left too much in the tank. Inexperiance. What would you do differently?: Say water at drink station instead of sticky fluid. Post race
Warm down: Stretched a little bit What limited your ability to perform faster: Inexperiance and tapered too early in the week. Event comments: It was my first race, so it has to be the best, but even I can't find anything wrong with the race. The duathlon made things busy which was cool that you were always competing with people. Last updated: 2009-07-18 12:00 AM

First race ever, so no routine but made efforts to be early, walk through the routes I would take for the transitions, and set up my transition towel as planned. Cold morning, ice on windshield
Swam about 100m
