  • 12.36 km/hr
Comments:

This course is way harder that the TOM course - not surprising considering smaller field of participants and those who were there looked in serious shape.

What would you do differently?:

Train harder for this terrain.
Post race
Warm down:

Lay on grass feeling terrible and drained.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Cramping. Hill fitness.

Event comments:

Awesome race. Plan to do it next year and shoot for sub 4hour.

Performance: Average
Wind: Some
Course: Steep, steep, steep. This was one brutal course that chewed me up and spat me out. Major leg cramps started 2:30 in and didn't stop until the end. Some major hammie and quad cramps resulted in toppling over a couple of times with legs locked solid still in the peddles. Heat was major (for this part of the country) and forgot salt tabs. Course was way more technical than TOM, but handled the descents well and was happy with technical riding. Some serious hills that were unrideble especially late in the race when every unbalanced peddle stroke resulted in onset of cramps.
