Swim
Comments: for some reason they made us swim against the current. fastest swim of the day was 1:55/100 and that included a field of lifeguards. insane. Transition 1
Comments: could have been faster, but a decent t1. Bike
Comments: great bike. pushed the whole way. it got a little crowded the 3rd look and it was very tough to figure out who you were racing, but it was still fun to hammer a flat fast course. What would you do differently?: nothing. Transition 2
Comments: there was a curb on the way into t2 that i knew was there. as i went to jump it my rear wheel lowered and slammed into the curbflatting the tire. luckily i was done riding and the rim us fine. not my best work though. What would you do differently?: lift bike! Run
Comments: felt ok. hip was hurting, but i was chasing a few guys down so i went hard right from the start. ended up getting passed by the AG winner early and i couldn't hang on. it's not often i outride someone and then they outrun me. in fact this is the first time i have ranked as high on the bike as i did on the run. not a bad run though. i guess my riding is improve this year. What would you do differently?: nothing. that's all i had. Post race
Warm down: cheered on k and hung out w/ karen wating for awards. then pancakes, vic's pizza, movies, and sushi. great day! What limited your ability to perform faster: ? Event comments: very fun, fast, small town race. it's a first year race that needs some fixes, but i had a great time and would do it again. issues: 1. no bike numbers or security in transition. 2. started 20 minutes late. 3. swam up current. that's fine i guess, but let people know that ahead of time Last updated: 2009-07-22 12:00 AM
