Event warmup:

Stretch my ITB, run at low pace for a couple of minutes, then swim for a few minutes before the gun.
Swim
  • 16m 54s
  • 800 meters
  • 02m 07s / 100 meters
Comments:

Good swim. It was raining, but the water was very calm. Started too strong again, then got out of breath. No panic though, just used a lot of "side crawling" to catch my breath a few times.
What would you do differently?:

I really need to hold my crawl. Need more practice in open water.
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

Somehow, I came out in the wrong lane and could not find my bike right away. Then lost some time to get the transition stuff that was in a bag due to the rain.
What would you do differently?:

Take more time to go through the motions before the race so that I find my bike right away.
Bike
  • 31m 52s
  • 12 kms
  • 22.59 km/hr
Comments:

Awesome bike leg. Cut 1min 30 secs from last race on same track, despite the rain. I did have my new TRI bike.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Train harder.
Transition 2
  • 01m 30s
Comments:

My socks were soaking wet from the bike in the rain, so I decided to change socks before the run. While this was a really good idea for the run (I would do it again!), this was not prepared in my transition area so I needed to search my bag for the extra pair I had brought.

I also had to install a "Patt Strap" above my knee to help with my Iliotibial Band syndrome.

So I lost a little time there.
What would you do differently?:

If raining, prepare second pair of socks for the run in advance...
Run
  • 22m 37s
  • 5 kms
  • 04m 31s  min/km
Comments:

The run was awesome. I was quicker than in training, which is a first for me. Ii do not know if it has to do with the cool temperature, or the benefits of having a realt Triathlon bike, but the run went really good. I did not even feel like walking. The last race, I had to fight with myself to not walk.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Just try to increase the pace more at the end next time to gain a few positions if possible.
Post race
Warm down:

Walk around eating pitas :))

What limited your ability to perform faster:

My lack of technique in the swim.

Event comments:

I really like this T-Rex serie.
