Pre-race routine:

Arrived early as it was my first tri. Had a piece of toast with penut butter.
Set up transition..tried to shake some of the nerves off.
Next time would eat a bit more, and not try to be the first one there

Was not ready for this...forgot everything I practiced. Breast stroke and side stroke...no freestyle.
What would you do differently?:

Signed up for swim lessons, and am planning to work hard on this for next season. Will also stick to the plan and swim freestyle and slow down.

Run with bike, rather than walk fast.
Also weight for gel once on bike course.

Pick up pace right away.

Walked, and stretched. Ate a banana, and a ton of water.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Other than the fact that I just trained for this event for three weeks! I would say the heat.

Event comments:

Will do it again next year, great race for first timers!
Gets a good base on where you need to improve!!
