Swim
Comments: Fast / Brown (and black) / Dirty... got to love the early morning rain / runoff. Not as chaotic as i imagined. Previous week swim prep proved to be extremely helpful. What would you do differently?: Navigate better. Start further west in river to take advantage of current. Try not to get kicked in the face multiple times. Transition 1
Comments: Decent transition. Was nervous about gear being wet / missing since i left it the night before, but it was untouched. Very happy about that. What would you do differently?: Go Faster Bike
What would you do differently?: Take Specialized Armadillo tires off (SLOW) and take my chances getting a flat. Push myself more on the bike... was worried about leaving energy in the tank. Transition 2
Comments: This went pretty quickly. Don't know what the hell i spent almost 2mins doing.... thought i was faster. What would you do differently?: Hurry up! Run
Comments: Run down 72nd st. into the park was awesome. Felt like a celebrity with everyone cheering. CP was hilly , but use to it living in NYC. Enjoyed going in reverse. What would you do differently?: Run faster. Post race
Warm down: Wet towel / orange / 3 bottles of water... was great to finish. Was superexcited ran into family coming down the whole stretch. Made pain in legs nonexistent. What limited your ability to perform faster: Wasn't expecting hills on bike. Typically a strength seemed like a weakness. Event comments: Had a blast - will def. do again next year. Can't wait to log online during halloween. Last updated: 2009-07-27 12:00 AM

Set up transition area late Sat. afternoon. This allowed me to sleep set my alarm clock to 6am (although i got up at 5) since my swim didn't start until 7:48.
Nerves were all over the place. Had swam in the Hudson week prior for tuneup swim, but for some reasons was still nervous. Went to the little boys room (line sucked), drank cytomax, put body glide on, got inked up, hung out with friends / family. Pretended (unconvincingly not to be nervous)
