Swim
Comments: It was a small wave and I had no problems until I neared the first buoy and then I had someone on either side of me swimming half on top of me. After that I was pretty good but on the second half I kept swimming to the left and having to steer myself back out. Transition 1
Comments: I couldn't get my wetsuit off over my garmin and then I got my feet stuck. I also decided to take the time to eat a banana. Bike
Comments: My quads were killing me on the first lap and then I settled in and did a little better on the second lap. Gave my extra water bottle away but didn't end up needing it. Ate half a pbj sandwich. Transition 2
Comments: I had to run forever with my bike and then someone had taken my spot so I ended up leaving my bike leaning against a garbage can (at least I was on the end of the row). What would you do differently?: Bike faster so no one steals my spot on the rack. Run
Comments: The run seemed interminable, I think b/c it was winding through a neighborhood so there was no way to gauge where the turnaround was and also b/c by then the sun had come out and it was wicked hot. What would you do differently?: Taken the time to cut across the road to get more liquids. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Saturday's workout, heat, lack of motivation on the bike. I wore my new garmin for the first time and I don't really know how it works yet. Event comments: The start seemed a little chaotic and then I felt like the support on the run was lacking-there were lots of water stations but the volunteers were all staying on one side of the road so if you didn't cross the road and get the fluids you had to wait until you came back by.
