Swim
Comments: This went a lot better than my first open water swim. I was able to get into a better rhythm. It was cool seeing/hearing all of the people up on the bridge cheering. What would you do differently?: Get further into the water, closer to the buoys, even if it means treading for a while. Transition 1
Comments: I'm just so slow here, need to practice more. Bike
What would you do differently?: Push a little harder and ride in aero more. Transition 2
Comments: I was tired here and moving really slow. Run
What would you do differently?: NEED MORE TRAINING!! Also, if I have to walk, I need to get into a rhythm of run/walk, not just start walking whenever the feeling hits. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed something to drink and sat under my ART tent for a few minutes to cool down. Started working on people about 20 minutes later. I was afraid I would be dead tired, but it wasn't too bad. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training. Now I know I can do the distance, I just need to work on my speed and overall endurance. It will come with time. I also need to work on the ability to know my body. I know I'm not pushing it hard enough, but I don't always feel that way mid-race! Event comments: Simply put, a great race! Next year will be even better. I'm wondering how soon I should book my room for TriWaco 2010? Last updated: 2009-07-28 12:00 AM

Thankfully, my husband got up extra early to set up my ART tent so that I only had to worry about getting transition set up. Ate a bowl of oatmeal and took about 10 steps outside the Hilton to get set up. Had enough time to check on my tent and make sure I had everything I needed to work on people after the race.
