Fished in the lake, caught nothing. Ate a cliff bar and drank some water.
Event warmup:

Jogged around for 10 min. Swam 200 yards to get aquainted with water temp.

Swim went better than expected even though I was 2nd to last one in. Never had to tread water, but I really tired out in the end.

I need to do more speed work and increase my distance in training

Put my shoes on while in transition. Did not have a wet suit to take off. Transition went well, not breaking records but not expecting to either.

I had trouble on the run. I cramped up in the quads, should drank more. I had walk for some portions.
What would you do differently?:

Train on a trail for a trail run.

Ate some pretzels and bananna at the finish, drank some gatorade

Not enough training for this event

I felt out of my league in this race, but I finished. I may not have been ready for an olympic distance race. In the end I am glad I did it and look forward to another tri, maybe a sprint though
