Swim
  • 29m 44s
  • 1408 yards
  • 02m 07s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim was great except the beginning. This was my first true start where there was so much kicking and pushing. It was overwhelming. I ended at one point completely hyperventilating. Decided to tread water for a minute or so and let the madness pass and then got into my groove.
What would you do differently?:

Probably hang back a bit at the start.
Transition 1
  • 04m 3s
Comments:

It was fine. The stairs were a bit slippery but I managed to make it without falling once. It was a long jog but it was fine. I did not rush myself and really I took my time and I was completely fine with that.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Bike
  • 1h 19m 44s
  • 24.9 miles
  • 18.74 mile/hr
Comments:

Bike was great. I felt strong. Had a wonderful time. Rolling hills. Fun course.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Transition 2
  • 02m 16s
Comments:

Again, took my time. Decided to drink some of my heed mixture instead of carrying it through the course. I definitely took my time for T2 just to make sure all was perfect for the run. It was.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Run
  • 1h 00m 45s
  • 6.2 miles
  • 09m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Overcast - it was just perfect. I ran with my HR and decided not to get past Z3 - to make sure I would finish feeling strong and I did. Great people on the course. What a great run.
What would you do differently?:

I could have raced a little bit faster but I have no regrets.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

My own fears of hitting the wall.

Event comments:

Seriously - this race is just perfect. I have only done 2 so I really do not know how it stacks up - but as an athlete - there is not one xtra thing I could have asked for. It was truly just perfect!
