Run
Comments: Until km 28km I felt ok but I was always thinking that my problem was going to show up and it did exactly after 30km and I was aiming for something around 2h50. No way, I switched off the engine and I tried to enjoy the day even if it was painful to cross the finish line. I can't say here how I felt after the race... What would you do differently?: Never run anymore a marathon if you are not at 100% Post race
Warm down: I had to walk a lot, like 2km to reach my car What limited your ability to perform faster: My tooth problem Event comments: It is one of the best course in the world. It was my 3rd in Rome and I will go again. Great organization, great scenery and lot of support on all the course. Last updated: 2009-07-31 12:00 AM

One of mine wisdom tooth "exploded" on tuesday before the race and I could not do the operation so I had to get antibiotics and painkillers. Every day before the race I had to go to toilette for 5 or 6 times per day because of the medicaments probably. On saturday before the race, I felt like not to partecipate, I was totally knocked-out mentally and phisically.
But I flew there from Switzerland on purpose and I could not miss it.
The warmup was terribly affected by the fact that everytime I tried to run for warming up, I had to run to the toilette and I went there 3 or 4 times. I was feeling very light indeed and I decided to start because at least it was a nice sunny day.
I had a very light breakfast and probably everything went into the toilette.
