Swim
Comments: This was a horrible swim for me. Tired to get right up front but people were pushy in the chute. Was probably about 3 people deep, so not a bad start position, but with 122 people in our wave, it was more crowd then it should have been. There were people zig-zagging and getting in the way. I just need to start in the very front, maybe more on the outside to just stay away from everyone. So out of our wave I was 15th out of the water. I definitely need to position myself better. What would you do differently?: Better position on the start. Transition 1
Comments: I know my time probably seems long, but I was 3rd fastest in my AG. We exit the 'swim' onto this sand bar, then cross the timing mat and have to get back in the water. But this water is hot and dirty and smelly and just plan out disgusting. People were walking in it, but it was deep enough to swim. Then a long run into transition. Put my helmet on and ran out with my bike. Beat a lot of people out of T1. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Didn't open my shoes up good enough and one of my rubber bands came off before I even exited T1 so had a hard time getting into my shoes and up to speed. Within the first couple miles got passed by someone from UCF. I tried to stay with him the best I could and used him as motivation on the bike. He pulled away around the 9 mile mark. Otherwise this was an uneventful ride. The course is fast and with no wind was super easy. What would you do differently?: Nothing Transition 2
Comments: 5th fastest T2 in my AG. Good dismount and my rack was close. Shoes went on nice and easy and was out onto the run. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: Came off the bike in 4th in my AG and got passed pretty early on in the run by some guy who was flying. Otherwise had someone come up next to me and give me a "Go Gators" so I gave him one back. He was actually from U. Miami and giving me a hard time. I ran with him pretty much the entire run, just stayed on his heels. Hit mile 1 at 7:32, did the 2nd mile in 7:28 and the 3rd mile in like 7:12. Probably the best run at the end of a tri. Only 4sec slower then the fastest stand alone 5K. Hit the 3 mile mark and the guy from Miami and me started picking it up. At one point he looked back and smiled like he wasn't going to let me pass him. I smiled and thought, I started 4mins behind you, so I kicked your ass anyways. :) What would you do differently?: Nothing, would love to get this down to about a 21min run. Post race
Warm down: Walked around, got a massage. What limited your ability to perform faster: Bad swim. They also had collegiate division. Here are my stats for that: Swim rank: 12th Bike rank: 6th Run rank: 12th Overall rank: 5th Got awards for both AG and Collegiate. Event comments: I really enjoyed this race.
