Swim
Comments: I felt pretty decent all things considered, I believe the wet suit would have really helped but I think the current slowed me down. Transition 1
Comments: I felt weird coming out of the water. I was a bit light headed and took a few extra seconds to regain my composure. It continued for the first few miles on the bike. I have no idea what it was. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Bike
Comments: I would be better off if I could ride on a course like this more often but I do not have any around me. My pace was a little faster than my PR for this course. What would you do differently?: I want to adjust to make some adjustments to my position and I think a new seat will be coming... Transition 2
Comments: I had been holding a major piss for about 20 miles. I stopped here to take one. No joke it took about 90 seconds! What would you do differently?: Nothing particular Run
Comments: This is where the wheels fell off. I felt really good for about the first 2 miles then I got out in the full sun section. HOLY CRAP!!! I tried to run but I just lost all of my energy and it became a suffer fest. When I got back to my phone the weather said the real feel temp. was 108 degrees. I don't doubt it. None the less I was dissapointed that I really didn't run through this. I just didn't have it. What would you do differently?: I don't make excuses, there were plenty of other people who raced in the same conditions as me and many were able to run. I am not sure but perhaps I haven't acclimated to this kind of heat yet. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: Heat, no wet suit Event comments: I wouldn't have made a PR no matter what after being 10 minutes behind after my swim however if the weather had cooperated more I would have been on track for a decent result. It just didn't happen. Last updated: 2009-08-04 12:00 AM
