Run/Swim due to low water level. Very different from last year when water was high. Had trouble getting going with everyone walking and starting swim at different points. Didn't navigate well, and basically ran in from second bouy.

I was slower than I felt. Probably can find some time to trim in T1 for my next race.

Felt very strong on bike, and attacked the hills. I was much better than last year, but didn't hit my goal of being below 55 min.
What would you do differently?:

A little more hill training and I am there!

Got stuck in a little traffic after dismount, but otherwise pretty good transition. I think I can find some time to shave off here too.

I felt so strong and found a nice pace. Had a great run encouraging others and enjoying the competition. Pushed the last mile hard and was probably close to 7 min.

Warm down:

Water, stretch and short walk.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I think on the bike I wasn't agressive enough based on how strong I felt on the run. After the race I felt very fresh, so I think I had more in me.

Event comments:

I love this course. Not many more beautiful spots in Wisconsin to race. This was my second Devil's Challenge and I can't wait for 2010 and #3.
