![]() Swim
Comments: a little disconcerting with the waves, and i was all on my own as i preferred to swim in the deep area, so no drafting... but no one climbing on me either! What would you do differently?: swim the middle portion faster, take it easy after the start for a bit, then finish stronger ![]() Transition 1
Comments: FUN!!! Totally nervous and I kept falling from feeling disoriented - water in my ears What would you do differently?: sit down to put on my shoes ![]() Bike
Comments: I really enjoyed the bike portion. beautiful scenery, nice flat course, and I felt strong the whole time What would you do differently?: I'll try going faster at the beginning... faster over all. ![]() Transition 2
What would you do differently?: This was good - oops I learned that I have to keep helmet on until the bike is on the rack. ![]() Run
Comments: HOT HOT HOT HUMID DAY!!!!!!!!!!!! I walked most of it. But felt good by the end :) I was able to sprint the finish. What would you do differently?: Oh geez... do more brick training and more running focusing on strength development. I was WEAK! ![]() Post race
Event comments: Good fun, first race. Learned a lot, especially about what it all feels like. Real time pacing, etc... It was really fun and I'm ready to go again. Last updated: 2009-08-05 12:00 AM

Hanging out waiting for the lightning to stop! Playing with the kids, trying to keep the butterflies calm. I set up my first ever transition area, which was really fun - made it all feel real. My own little spot among all these awesome athletes.
Jogged on the road for a bit, then jumped in to get used to the freezing cold 66 degree water!
