Swim
Comments: The swim was my best stage. But I found it difficult to concentrate on my form as I do when I swim laps. What would you do differently?: Concentrate on my form Transition 1
Comments: Decided to go sockless on the bike. It was fine. What would you do differently?: Move faster. Bike
Comments: My time was very slow, but it was my first real tri so there is much room for improvement! The course was hilly out and back but back was uphill most of the way. I wish I had a granny gear. What would you do differently?: Weigh less...I'm working on it. Transition 2
Comments: When I returned to the bike dismount area the volunteers said I was smiling too much. Another bike was in my spot when I returned so I moved over one. I sat on the ground and got my thin Zoot socks and new Nike Lunarglides on. What would you do differently?: Practice transition more. Run
Comments: It was hard and I walked alot on the uphills and in the muddy parts, which was much of it. What would you do differently?: Once I get my knee gel I hope my knee will fell better and I will be able to run longer and faster. Post race
Warm down: Just walked a bit downhill to car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me, my butt, my legs, my knee etc. Event comments: I crossed the finish line with Sally Edwards, No I wasn't last (close though) but she was waiting at the finish and crossed with many of us. I haven't put my times in they were slow. I'm a BOPer. Maybe next year I'll move up in the rankings but I really don't care, the journey is the reward, so I get more journey! I remembered to smile and thank the volunteers along the course. Nice finish metal, looks like jewelry almost. My first Tri...now I'm a triathlete! Last updated: 2009-08-05 12:00 AM

After my first scheduled triathlon last week in Philadelphia was changed to a duathlon and later called (though I had completed the du in an intense thunderstorm) I had the urge to tri again as I wanted to become a triathlete now!
During the week I found this event, signed up and made a reservation at the hotel on site. We left NY at 7:30 Saturday and after a stop for breakfast and gas in CT we arrived in Mt. Snow about noon for the pre race meetings and check in. The talks by Sally Edwards and the other women were inspirational. It is a very supportive environment.
I then stuck my feet in the 65 F degree lake (wetsuit) and drove the bike course. I then sat in the hot tub and floated the pool for an hour or so, later dinner and a marshmallow roast. There was a nice fireworks show outside our room at about 9 PM.
Just walked around.
