Comments: Pretty good chop to the water (just like I'd hoped for). I couldn't find someone to draft off of. I kept finding people and then just passing them. Next year, I'll get closer to the bouy. Comments: First time I've done the rubber-band trick with my shoes. It worked great. I had a really fast transition. What would you do differently?: Run faster getting out of the water. Bike
Comments: I was ~2 min slower than last year. I know it's from 1) 15 extra pounds over what I had last year and 2) the wind because everyone had issues with the wind. But I was hammering the whole time. The 1/2 turnaround was also moved which I missed and had a crappy turn. What would you do differently?: Double Check the course layout and lose some weight... Comments: There was an accident right at the entrance to transition so I jumped off the bike and still had my hand gripping the left (front) brake so the bike flew up in the air! But I caught the top-tube, hurdled the two ladies on the ground and got into transition. In all the confusion, I unclipped my helmet!!! But I held both sides and nobody assessed me a penalty. I'll discuss Karma later... What would you do differently?: not unclip my helmet. My transition was solid. Run
Comments: ARGH!!! I hate the run. I really need to get faster!!! It was hot out, but that's not a good enough excuse. I was pushing the whole time, even cheering others on. I just really need to push harder on the run in training. It's impossible to drink enough on the run. In the Oly, I'll wear my fuelbelt. What would you do differently?: lose some weight. get faster.
