Pre-race routine:

Got up at 4:30. Ate some cereal and a banana. Got some coffee and some water and jumped in the car with Shannon and Adam.
Event warmup:

Had women/bowel issues. No warm-up this time. Happy that the Y's locker room was open!!!!!!!

Started breathing every 2nd stroke around 500y. That makes me mad!
What would you do differently?:

Sight better and keep with my bilateral breathing even if I have to slow it down a bit.

go faster and cut out do-rag... buy better shoes that don't need socks.

Had a great time. Met up with 280 ("40") around mile 5 and played leapfrog the rest of the course. I could've pushed harder at times but took 280's lead and backed off at least twice.

Take no prisoners. Train more. I know I can kill on this discipline.

Warm down:

Hung out with Whit,Shannon, and Adam. Went to Toast to have some seriously good banana nut pancakes...excellent!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Frankly, 1) heaviest day of my period, 2) nasty allergy/cold snot-laden sinuses 2) messed up bowels, but everything else was great.

Event comments:

Good race. May do it again. It's ashame the bike course had to change but it seems it was unavoidable.
