Swim
Comments: first time doing a 50m length pool. It was a bit weird doing the swim in a 50m pool when all my practice has been done in a 25m pool. I kept expecting the wall halfway down. Other than that it was better because it gave ppl time to stretch out and not bunch up. What would you do differently?: learn the flip turn. Transition 1
Comments: going into T1 was great. Ran the whole way to the bike. Grabbed the bike and ran out to the mount line. Once at the mount line I had decided that I was going to do "shoes in" mount. Didn't have a rubber band so I had used a bit of tape to hold the shoe in place. Well this shoe dropped right as I mounted the bike. It bounced the bike up and I almost lost it. But I recovered and mounted the bike. What would you do differently?: use rubber bands on the shoes. Bike
Comments: Bike was good. Forgot at one point that I was racing a clock and my buddies when I was heading up the hills. Got back in the groove and the bike went great. What would you do differently?: Buy a Tri bike :) Transition 2
Comments: T2 went great. Got my feet out of my shoes while riding just fine. got up to the dismount and dismounted fine. Ran the bike right back to the rack and through it on the rack. Tried to get my garmin off the bike bars but realized that I was losing time. Through the shoes on without socks and headed out. The tongue of the shoes was bunched up so I had to stop and fix them. What would you do differently?: Fix the tongue before I head out. Put the garmin b4 I get to T2. Run
Comments: Running went fine. Started out slow cause of the brick feeling. However, this time was better than the first. Got to the half and negative split the run since it was mostly downhill. The run portion was great. What would you do differently?: Not much. Post race
Warm down: .8 mile bike ride back to the car. Banana and gatorade. What limited your ability to perform faster: no calories in the am maybe? Event comments: the race itself was great. Course was well marked and it went off without a hitch. race-prep however was lacking. I didn't feel like they put out enough info on the race. How the swim was going to go, where the transition entrance and exits were. Small things that added up. Also they provided doughnuts for after the race.....doughnuts??? They did have banana's and gatorade, but doughnuts, i just don't get it. Last updated: 2009-08-10 12:00 AM

Got up at 4:30am reading a book to get "things" moving until 5:30am. Left for the event and wanted to stop by Dunkin Donuts for a bagle and PB. They weren't open so had a McD's OJ.
Some light stretching
