Swim
Comments: This was a terrible swim for me. My shoulder and arm had been sore for a week prior to the race. Left arm felt numb and exhausted for the entire race. The water was freezing- there were weeds at about the half way point. I think not having a wet suit to get out of, really helped in my transition time and overall palce. What would you do differently?: More practice. The shoulder/arm issue really affected my performance. Transition 1
Comments: This is na estimate, as they didnt break out the transition times, but it's according to my watch. Definately better than my effort in my first tri, last month. What would you do differently?: Move faster out of the water. Bike
Comments: It's a little disheartening tobe passed by all the men in my age group- but atleast it didnt happen until I was at the second mile! What would you do differently?: More hills in training. Transition 2
Comments: Again, an estimate. I was very annoyed that they allowed people into the transition area. There was a mother and her 2 kids, "Looking for Daddy's bike" That kept getting in my way :( What would you do differently?: Nothing- I think I moved pretty fast through here. Run
Comments: I was more prepared for this, than I was the last time. I walked much less, but still had to walk a couple of times. I love the out and back course- It's great to see other people and give some encouragement to each other. What would you do differently?: This is my worst leg. I really need to get this time down if I ever want to get better. Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster: My shoulder and arm pain definately affected my ability to swim well. Event comments: For a first annual event, this was great! I wish the volunteers were a little more vocal about keeping spectators out of the way. I think the swim was shorter than they said, because my arm was way to sore for me to have hit that pace.
