Comments: As planned started easy, didn't push anything and entered the tough part after about 6/7 laps. That lasted maybe 3/4 laps and the second half was easier than the first. Sure I can get under 9 minutes for the 500m. Had to overtake the other chap in the lane twice, no real problems with that, pleased I had the additional acceleration to pass him easily. The extra amount makes me think I can get the time down more. What would you do differently?: tumble turns - I'd like to learn these as this would have been perfect environment for this. Not sure how it would affect my times though... Other than that went to plan. Transition 1
Comments: Went for another tight t-shirt which was difficult to get on! Also ripped my number off two pins! Stuff was organised well though and also went for the HR monitor. What would you do differently?: baggy t-shirt! Run
Comments: Been a while since I've actually run and felt it. Got hot, shoulders and neck got stiff and felt a little ill on the 2 lap! Maybe not enough water before the race?? Or a dodgy speedo... my Garmin had me running in the 10's for most of it but a time of 23.45 over 5k is an average speed of 12.63! which is very different to my Garmin!!! think that "Lo Batt" sign needs fixing. :) (though I'm pleased it was wrong that way :D ). What would you do differently?: Drink a little more before the race. Post race
