Swim
Comments: Started in the back, but there was not much of a pack really. It did seem like before I reached the first bouy dude in front keep stopping I had to pull up a number of times, but finally made it around him. Also they didn't seem to have enough guards in the water, there were a few women freaking out...I guess someone came to help them. What would you do differently?: I need to work on my sighting after I get tired. For the last part of the swim my sighting kinda sucked, I would actually come to a stop to see where I was going. I think I also need to try and swim faster I also seem to go on an easy pace to make sure I don't drown. Transition 1
Comments: This transition was good, A little trouble pulling on my shirt. No socks so things went pretty quick What would you do differently?: Perhaps find a shirt that I can swim in to save that time. Bike
Comments: I concentrated on pushing and pulling to make sure that I didn't burn out my quads. The temp was pretty nice and few actual cool spots where the course went by a shady stream, like an air-conditioner. Right leg need some stretching, so I geared down and stood to pedal, seemed to help. What would you do differently?: This was pretty good for me, I didn't use my quads too much. I may try to stand more often next time, perhaps stretch before the transition on the return so my legs can run better. Transition 2
Comments: This was nice and fast. Forgot my race number, but didn't worry about. What would you do differently?: Put on the number, need to put in on top of my shoes so I don't forget it. Run
Comments: My legs felt good right away, but I didn't push it because I wanted to make sure I could finish without stopping. Had a quick drink at the last mile and I ran shirtless for the last mile, that cooled me down along with the iced sponges they had. A good run for me, but I could have pushed it a little more. What would you do differently?: More run training to get my time down. Perhaps more bike/run bricks to try and push past the initial start of the run trouble. Post race
Warm down: Water and cookies Event comments: Needed more food choices after the race I thought. They were out of water when I went back for another. Glad I had some backup clifbars, or I would have been pretty hungry. Last updated: 2009-08-15 12:00 AM

Got up about 3:30-3:45, ate a good breakfast, cereal. Had 2 cups of good coffee and I also took 2 endurlyte capsules.
I went through a stretch video at home and I was able to swim a bit before the start of the race. Lines for the john were not too long.
