Comments:

This event is my second tri. Even though my swim time did not improve since my last tri - I felt a lot better during the swim. My sighting and breathing was better then my first tri. My goal was to have a better swim in terms of breathing and overall comfort level in open water. Even though my time did not improve in the swim - I did feel a lot more comfortable in the open water during this event.
What would you do differently?:

I feel like I have the basics of swimming down. I have to practice as much as possible in open water. Just like anything else - the more you do something, the better you will get. Training in open water is not very convienient for me - but I need to make the time in order to get faster on the swim leg.
Transition 1
  • 02m 21s
Comments:

During my first tri I felt terrible during T1. I was so gassed at my first tri it took my over four minutes to get through T1. Again - even tough my time in the swim did not improve - I felt a lot better in the water and coming out during T1. I was able to recover from the swim much more quickly this race.
Bike
  • 46m 12s
  • 14 miles
  • 18.18 mile/hr
Comments:

Felt good on the bike. Was able to improve my avg mile per hour from 17.2 to 18.2. I was happy with that. I think there was some fast bikers in this race. Even though my speed and time improved, I still got passed often and finished lower in my age group then I expected. However, I'm still happy with my bike performace.
What would you do differently?:

I felt better during the second half on the bike leg. Need to work on getting up to speed faster.
Transition 2
  • 01m 31s
Comments:

Felt good during T2.
Run
  • 24m 15s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 48s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt good during the run. It took a few minutes to get my legs under me. I think my last mile was faster then my first. I was able to cut 22 seconds off my per mile time. I ran a 7:50 pace overall. I can go under 7:00 on my training runs. Of course, I'm not getting off the bike for my training runs!
What would you do differently?:

Need to work on getting up to speed faster.
