Swim
Comments: Felt stronger with this year over last year. I did a lot of open water swimming this summer to get over it. I do better without the flying arms and getting kicked in the face. Some thing to deal with. One day I will be faster, but overall I am happy with my time. Transition 1
Comments: My bike was racked at the back of the transition area three rows from the bike exit. It was a long way from the swim exit. Overall, there is nothing I could have done differently. Bike
Comments: I met a girl from my age group that rode the same pace. We talked to each other and it made the ride enjoyable. I'd pass her and then she would pass me back. I was comfortable and felt great. What would you do differently?: I upgraded to a new road bike three weeks before the race. I think I am ready for aerobars. Transition 2
Comments: I took the time to change my socks to dry socks. (I hate blisters) That would account for the extra time at T2 Run
Comments: I am disappointed with my run. I started out with a horrible side stitch just like the year before. The girl from the bike taught me something new- I had a gas bubble on the underside of my rib cage and she helped me get rid of it. We ran together for the 1st mile or so. I practiced this hilly run numerous times and I don't know what happened to me out there. I even did speed work at the track every week. What would you do differently?: Going to change the way I train for the run next year. Do some more research and figure out how to change this fate. I am going to conquer the run next year Post race
Warm down: Ice cold water and watermelon. walking and stretching. What limited your ability to perform faster: Side stitch. Event comments: I love the Iron Girl. I beat last years time- last year being the 1st triathlon ever. I am happy with my overall result, even if I am disappointed with my run. That just means that I will come back next year more determined. =) Last updated: 2009-08-25 12:00 AM

Hardly slept the night before: I couldn't stop thinking and go to sleep. Woke up at 4:00 to eat a hard boiled egg and a little caffine. Packed my transition bag and placed it in the car the night before. All I had to do was grab my water bottles from the frig and go.
Got to the course at 5:10 am and met my friend Dawn.
Stretching and talking to my fellow Iron Girls around me.
