Swim
Comments: I think the warm up swim really made a difference. I felt relaxed and by bilateral breathing was good. The course itself is really shallow. From the wading start we had to cross abut 3 knee deep sandbars so there was a lot of runing in water and dolphin diving before the real swimming started. Same on the way back expect had to run right back to the beach. I would estimate we had to run in the water for about 100M to start and about 200 meters to exit the water. I think I heard one of the officials say the 750M was measured excluded the sand bar areas at the start and end. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 1
Comments: Forgot to take timing chip off my ankle so I had to push my leg back through the wetsuit, take the chip off and then remove suit. Good running mount, but I am using running shoes. Quiet a run up the beach, across the road and through the transition area. This is the longest run in transition for me so far. What would you do differently?: Remember to remove timing chip Bike
Comments: Still on the mountain bike. Slicks seem to be alot smoother and definately quieter. My computer wasn't working. I must have forgot to adjust the magent when I put my tire back on. I didn't have any pacing or speed information so I just had at 'er. I thought with the cages and new slicks I would have been faster. What would you do differently?: check computer Transition 2
Comments: Nice easy transation. Rack bike, remove helmet and run. Still a fairly long run from bike course ~125m and to run course ~150m. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: I felt that I was out of breath for most of the run. Couldn't seem to find my breathing rhythm at all. My time was slower then I expected. What would you do differently?: Not sure. Maybe more bike training to come into the run in a little better condition. Post race
Warm down: Walking, loaded bike into the truck and walked back the finish to wait for Diane. Pizza, banana, begal, watermellon and 2 bottles of water after race. What limited your ability to perform faster: More swim training, mountain bike, something was off on the run. Hey first year of tris so I now have a baseline to improve.
