Swim
Comments: swim went great! i swam in the race at the same pace i swim my timed 200's. i was very pleased. that was the time i was hoping to do it in! What would you do differently?: train more for next year to get faster. Transition 1
Comments: not sure of T1. no transition timing was done. but i think i was around 2:00+. bad idea trying to put on my tri top while still wet, and it really cost me time. What would you do differently?: wear the tri top in the pool. Bike
Comments: felt like a slug the first half of the bike course. i havent been putting in many miles on the bike, and it just didnt feel smooth and easy to me. after i got about half way, i was loosened up and started closing in on the person who beat me out of the pool first in my wave. What would you do differently?: keep up my bike training and dont let it slack off. Transition 2
Comments: again, no transition timing. but from my previous races, it felt to be about the same time. Run
Comments: got off bike and felt good. had a minor side stitch, but i pushed through it. i didnt want the person behind me to pass me, so that made me push through my discomfort. after i got to the turnaround, i felt great and was able to put more down some more speed (not that im fast though). What would you do differently?: work on not getting side stitches on the run, how to run with a side stitch, etc. Post race
Warm down: got a few drinks and some bagels with peanut butter. Event comments: need chip timing. and make the bike course not pass over train tracks twice and risk getting stuck. Last updated: 2009-08-28 12:00 AM
