![]() Swim
Comments: I did OK navigating the 1st 2 (250m) segments, but about halfway on the 1st 500m segment I looked up to find myself a good 50m plus to the right of the main pack. got back on course and didn't stray too much on the 2nd 500m leg. Rolled over to look at the clock at the end of the 1st mile, 26:40. OK. On the 2nd mile, I had the opposite problem twice - 1st between markers 2 & 3 then roughly the same spot as during the 1st mile - only this time I was way off to the left, basically in the center of the diamond. I got to the end of mile 2 right at 56 minutes and decided to stick with plan A; I could finish another mile but it would be slooow, and my left tricep was hurting, probably something from yesterday. ![]() Post race
Warm down: Showered, changed, at a muffin & banana. Met skarl (& Ted), rmarzano, talked to z-dog, saw my friend Chris and his co-worker, looked for mcgilmartin finishing the 3 mile. Bought raffle tickets, hit several silent auction items, and came away with a set of aero bars. Also saw mollyland pre-and post-swim as well; I'm certain there were other BTers here, the overall turnout was impressive. Event comments: Mile High MultiSport and Zev (z-dog), along with all the other people coordinating, did a fantastic job putting this event together so quickly; they were reporting some very impressive fund-raising numbers before the swim even started. Many thanks also to the Grant Ranch Homeowners Assn for making this possible by opening their neighborhood and allowing the multi-sport community to basically take over part of their lake and recreation facilities for the morning. I am impressed & humbled by the big turnout and unflinching generosity of the local athletes and supporting organizations that made this morning possible. Last updated: 2009-08-30 12:00 AM
