I very rarely swim, so I knew this would be my worst leg. I was quite pleased with my time - I had estimated 12:00.

Spend more time training!

As this was my first triathlon, I wasn't concerned at all about how quickly I transitioned. I walked from the pool to my bike and did not rush getting ready for the ride.
What would you do differently?:

In hindsight, I wish I would've hurried! If I hadn't been so slow on both transitions, I would've placed several spots higher.

Took it slow and easy at the start of the run; gave my body time to transition from pedaling motion to running motion.

Shocked at my split time - I thought I'd be between 8:00 and 8:30.
