Age Group Rank = 15/20
Pre-race routine:

sat and sweat it out
Event warmup:

stretched and got in the water to ensure wetsuit was fitting well.
Swim
  • 45m 5s
  • 2100 yards
  • 02m 09s / 100 yards
Comments:

Swim felt great. No breathing problems, never went on to my back. Maintained a consistent pace throughout.
What would you do differently?:

Better navigation between buoys.
Transition 1
  • 04m 49s
Comments:

Wetsuit strippers made getting the suit off easy. A bit dizzy after the swim and had to sit to get socks on for bike. Being wet made it difficult to get gear on. Out of tent and up hill with the bike in good time.
What would you do differently?:

Have a more organized routine. Bring a towel.
Bike
  • 3h 53m 18s
  • 56 miles
  • 14.40 mile/hr
Comments:

Best ride on this course. Weather was nice with no wind, a bit hotter than expected. Ran out of fluid and Endurolytes. Overall a good performance, but I left my back tight.
What would you do differently?:

Been more relaxed in the upper body and brought more fluid.
Transition 2
  • 05m 55s
Comments:

Bike cathcers, no racking required. Difficulty with organization in tent (deciding what I needed) + a restroom break.
What would you do differently?:

More focused, no restroom break.
Run
  • 2h 59m 34s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 13m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Run started out very difficult, with tight back and sore legs, walked a majority of the 1st 3 miles. Started to take endurolytes at mile 2. By mile 6 was feeling good from endurolytes. Last 6 miles were the best.
What would you do differently?:

more endurolytes at end of bike course, been looser and relaxed to finish bike (tight back hurt performance).
Post race
Event comments:

Great race and organization. Tough course. Weather was perfect for the event. If weather is ever off the day will be very long.
