Swim
Comments: Again, not a swim to be proud of though, compared to many others, the swim is what I do best. The 1st wave of guys caught us at the last turn and that kinda hurt. What would you do differently?: Again, practicing swimming couldn't hurt. New goggles too (purchased that weekend). Transition 1
Comments: That seems like a long time. Maybe this was the race when my timing chip wanted to be free. Bike
Comments: I admittedly took it fairly easy, knowing I had raced the day before. I also stopped to help a girl who's chain fell off on a hill and stopped on the steepest hill to walk because my knee was twinging. Very busy course. Lots of bikers. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Less than a min. Who can complain about that? What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: I think I only walked twice...maybe 3 times. I thought 5k was 3.5 miles. What a pleasant surprise when the finish came early. Mentally I was in a good place and I totally brought it home at the end there. What would you do differently?: Nothing Post race
Warm down: Walking, drinking, and eating watermelon. Was great. What limited your ability to perform faster: My goal time was 2:10 and I was under 2 hours. I was VERY happy with my performance, especially as I had done a super-sprint (Akron Woman's Tri) the day before and ended it VERY sore. Was a great race. Very proud of that. If I actually *train* for swimming, that would help. Next year worry there. Event comments: Another very well organized event...especially considering the group size (over 600 people). Prepared, well marked, good course. Last updated: 2009-09-02 12:00 AM
