Swim
Transition 1
Comments: Ran out into the parking lot. a bunch of people were already clearing out their gear and heading to their cars and others were heading out on the run. Put on a long sleeve shirt because It was cold and would be cold on the bike - wasted some time (probably 20 seconds) Bike
What would you do differently?: Push a bit harder. Work more on going downhills with out riding the brakes. Transition 2
Comments: A bit slow - calfs threatened to cramp up putting on running shoes. Pulled off the long sleeved shirt. Run
Comments: Good solid run. Made sure I ran up all the hills. Tried to keep an even pace until the last 1/2 mile. Felt OK but could have gone a little faster at the beginning - 8:00 min/mile. Ended up passing 6 people in the last 1/2 mile. Post race
Warm down: Walked around What limited your ability to perform faster: Need more time on the bike - kind of my Achilles heal in moving me up the leader board Event comments: They have to figure out a better way to run the swim. I was one of the last in the water (you were seeded in reverse order of expected swim time) almost 2 hrs after the race start. They should go with a 400 M swim with a serpentine swim rather than the way they did it. Bike and run were OK - but it would have been nice to have some police presence at the 2 turns where there was a lot of traffic. Last updated: 2009-09-02 12:00 AM

Woke up at 6:15. Had coffee and bagel w/PB and honey. Drove to the race and was there by 7:00. Checked in and went to set up my transition. There were racks for maybe 40-50 bikes so I set up at the edge of the parking lot, laying my bike on the ground.
None whatsoever. I knew I wouldn't start the swim until 9:30 or later (ended up at in the H2O at 9:50)so I just walked around and watched the first heats of the swim
