Comments:

I thought I swam well, but overall I am disappointed with my time. I am not sure what specifically I did wrong, but I thought I would be much faster. I think I may have gone too far out into the river and then was not swimming straight.
What would you do differently?:

Stay closer to the pack
Swim faster (first I need to get faster!)

I left the shoes on the bike and they ended up getting caught on the pavement...pretty dumb.
Faster than expected overall.
Dont trust the suntan lotion people!

use a rubber band to keep the shoes off the ground

I came out too strong.
Was riding at top of z3 bottom of z4.
Started dying at mile 60.
Paid for it the rest of the race.
What would you do differently?:

Not race by RPE.
Base race pacing completely on HR zones. (had success with this the two races prior, not sure why I decided to go by feel)

I knew I was in trouble in the first mile.
At mile 9 I wasn't sure I would finish.
Walked for 15 minutes and got my stuff together.
Couldn't get my hr above z2.

What would you do differently?:

Saved something for the run.
Not gotten hurt.
Taken more salt sooner (I drank too much water on the bike and it flushed me out an I was pretty screwed up and salt depleted)

Walked to restaurant.
Proposed to gf.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I road too hard early in the bike.
I was thinking "I feel good so I will keep going".
I should have saved more throughout the race.

Event comments:

Next time I will be smarter, save more, and "do it by the numbers"
