Transition 1
Comments: I thought I did well here. What would you do differently?: run faster to the exit....I had a long way to get out of the bike coral. Bike
Comments: I went out pretty hard...legs were burning on the hills just before the turn around....I almost hit a deer right before the turn around too...that kinda freaked me out. The tun around was through a church parking lot that had not been paved in what looked like 50 years...Pot-holes everywhere. It seemed like there was a little tail wind coming back and my legs began moving back to me. One of the volunteers directed me away from the finishing turn...so I ended up starting back again on the start of the race...I think the volunteer thought I was one of the Olympic racers who was starting their 2nd lap...anyway...I ended up having to cut across a couple of parking lots with people and cars diving every which way...I also had to jump off my bike and carry it across 2 medians and enter the wrong end of the bike coral... What would you do differently?: take it easy on a couple of the turns....I cornered so hard the one time...I hit my petal on the road and about bit it...That would have sucked!!! Transition 2
Comments: I entered the wrong end of the bike coral...since the volunteer directed me the wrong way...so this cost me some time...maybe a minute or so. What would you do differently?: take a better look at the course and not listen to a volunteer who doesn't know what they are doing...LOL Run
Comments: My legs actually felt pretty good...I had some left in the tank...because I thought the person behind me would push me at the finish line...but they didn't. What would you do differently?: Run a little harder in the middle. Post race
Warm down: walked and stretched a little What limited your ability to perform faster: time invested = performance Event comments: 1st time these people have ever run a triathlon....great venue...but totally lacked organization...everyone just kept waiting for someone else to do something...there seemed to be no one-person in charge...everyone just kept deferring decisions to everyone else. Could be a great race...but they need someone to step up and take charge. Last updated: 2009-09-06 12:00 AM
