Run
Comments: Began run/walk routine at about mile 2. Hydrated the best ever on this run. Got water two or three times at the drink stations. I have come to accept the fact that I am likely not going to be able to run the entire final run. Once I do get into the run/walk routine I try to shorten the walk portion and lengthen the run. I find running slow at this time very laborious. I just try to relax as much as possible and let my body find its own pace until I have to walk again. Considering I was in the run/walk routine for sometime, my overall time was not that terrible. What would you do differently?: Maybe next time take a couple EN on the bike just before the run and see if that makes any difference. Post race
Event comments: Fourth time I have done this race. Today was the second time I have done the Olympic distance course. Nice race day. Sunny, cool start. This years race total time was 44 seconds longer than in 2008. Fueling: Race Day Boost. one serving, Thurs, 3 servings Fri, one serving, Saturday. RC and AF one hour prior. One EN, one AF, 30 minutes into bike segment. Forgot to take one EN and one just before getting off the bike before the final run. No gels this time on the bike & it did not seem to matter. Hydrated well on the final run. Last updated: 2009-09-10 12:00 AM
