Total Time = 1h 04m 38s
Overall Rank = 48/160
Age Group = 45-49
Age Group Rank = 3/13
Pre-race routine:

Ate a banana, half a bagel and drank some water. Took my time to set up.
Event warmup:

A little stretching and about 10 minutes of running.
Swim
  • 08m 53s
  • 366 meters
  • 02m 26s / 100 meters
Comments:

We waited a long time to get started..we were given the 5 minute countdown that took about 15 min. I was walking out of the water when the horn went off. It was a clock wise race and I stated to the far outside to avoid the other 160 people who were in the water at the same time.
What would you do differently?:

swim a little more to waiting for the start and push earlier with the crowd.
Transition 1
  • 01m 21s
Comments:

my T1 time was faster then it had been. When I got to my position someone had knocked my glasses into the mud...I rinsed them and put them on, having water and putting my shoes on clean made a big difference. I ran out the corral and jumped on the bike. Took a little to get my balance and the clip in went very well and up to speed.
What would you do differently?:

Practice with the shoes in the clips...next year!
Bike
  • 34m 8s
  • 12 miles
  • 21.09 mile/hr
Comments:

lucky not to get a flat tire.
What would you do differently?:

I took the second lap a little easy, I think I could have pushed a little harder. I was very happy with my result.
Transition 2
  • 01m 2s
Comments:

still very slow!
What would you do differently?:

not drink before starting the run...I paid for it and had to make a pitstop during the run.
Run
  • 19m 22s
  • 3 miles
  • 06m 28s  min/mile
Comments:

Not very happy with my performance. I was running out of gas, which showed I did not do the right training.
What would you do differently?:

More speed work.
Post race
Warm down:

Chocolate muffin! Should have went for a slow 10 min run.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

I needed to do more sprint/speed work in the pool and running.

Event comments:

I did place well in my age group, won a $25 gift cert from Bike Factory. They had plent to eat and drink at the end.
