Event warmup:

putting on the wet suit warmed me up.
Swim
  • 36h 12m
  • 1640 yards
  • 2h 12m 25s / 100 yards
Comments:

faster then I thought I would be. went by faster when I couldnt see because of the sun.
What would you do differently?:

have to learn to be more efficient in the water so its one less thing to think about.
Transition 1
  • 03m 39s
Comments:

LONG run from swim. Everyone had long times here. nothing to be done.
Bike
  • 1h 18m 20s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 19.03 mile/hr
Comments:

Didnt feel like I could get into a groove on the bike. Not sure why. know that I need to change gears more to make the hills easier on myself so I can keep up speed. I was passing people on the bridge though.
What would you do differently?:

Use the gears that I paid for!! This isnt spin class this is a race!! I did end up faster then I felt at the time.
Transition 2
  • 02m 4s
Comments:

Again kind of a long run to the rack. Need to get the sips on my shoes to shave a few seconds off.
What would you do differently?:

zips on shoes.
Run
  • 1h 03m 28s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 10m 13s  min/mile
Comments:

My weakest link. My legs felt good on the run. But know I can/need to push harder. Felt like I had a quicker turnover in the last two miles. Sprinted the last 300m. Could have done that sooner but was talking to a guy just trying to pass the time.

Did have some what of a full belly getting off the run. strange feeling. Then at about mile 4 had mild cramp in the stomach, ran through and forgot about it.

I finished with energy, like I could keep going. So I didnt kill myself, ut I didnt leave it all on the course either... good thing I will hve another oly in a few weeks I can get it all out then!
What would you do differently?:

run harder, sooner... starting at mile 1!!

Post race
Warm down:

cool towel on the neck! ahhh refreshing!

What limited your ability to perform faster:

mental gumption. uncertainty of ability.

Event comments:

There were free socks! I like free socks!
