Swim
Comments: Took a kick to the face and knocked off my goggles immediately, came up and took a wave in the mouth and sorta lost my head. Took me about 5 minutes to get myself back together but after the second bouy I started to feel much better. I really enjoyed the swim after that. By the end there were about 4 waves mixed together. Spent some time trying to draft a couple different people but wasn't able to do that very well. What would you do differently?: Need to do more ows. Growing up I was petrified of water and apparently there is still a healthy fear there when things go bad. Wanted to do a sub 30 minute. I think that will be easily obtained next time. Transition 1
Comments: Lets just say I could work on this. Atleast this time I took my wetsuit off before I started to put on my shoes. What would you do differently?: Practice Bike
Comments: Very little wind. Roads were nice. Course was very organized. I felt great coming back. Took a gu on the bike. Had my water. I was very happy with my bike. Spent most of my time riding with a couple people much smaller then me. I would pass them on the downhill. They would pass me on the up hill. What would you do differently?: Just need to keep riding. 20 mph goal for next year. Transition 2
Comments: Transistions not really my strength. What would you do differently?: Practice. Run
Comments: Had a tough start to the run. Course was flat. Plenty of fluids. Just wasn't in the shape I needed to be in. What would you do differently?: Didn't really work any bricks into my workout. I think that would help as the first two miles were horrible. After that I felt like I hit my stride. Post race
Warm down: Miller lite and pizza. What limited your ability to perform faster: probably all the Miller lite and Pizza that I had the two months before the race. Event comments: Somehow, I won a prize package that they gave to 13 people. It was awesome. A pair of Kswiss shoes, an xterra bag and a bunch of other stuff. I don't know how that happened. I couldn't figure out what the announcer meant when he kept yelling "and our winner is Justin." I mean, I was happy with my time but I was pretty sure I hadn't won the race. One of the volunteers had to explain it to me. Last updated: 2009-09-14 12:00 AM

Figure this was my first olympic so I am going to fill this out. Woke up at five and got to the beach at 515. Checked in the day before so put my stuff in the transition area. This was huge compared to any tri I have done before. And we didn't even use up the whole area. I can't imagine what it would look like on sunday during the classic.
Counting the 3/4 mile walk down the beach and a quick dive in the water as my warm up. Just spent the time waiting for my wave trying not to get in my own head.
