None.
Swim
  • 06m 45s
  • 300 yards
  • 02m 15s / 100 yards
Comments:

Definitely need to work on my swimming. I had only ever swum 300 meters two times, like one week before the race. If I put some time in over the winter, I will definitely be able to improve my time and my performance!
Transition 1
  • 02m 31s
Comments:

I didn't have a wetsuit on, so I didn't have to worry about that. But I did have to put on my biking shorts and my shirt that had my race number on it. That definitely is what slowed me down.
What would you do differently?:

I want to get a trisuit so I don't have to take the time of putting on biking shorts and a shirt.
Bike
  • 45m 47s
  • 10 miles
  • 13.11 mile/hr
Comments:

Honestly this was really hard for me. So many hills! But I survived! Also, big mistake to put propel in my water bottle instead of plain water. It coated my mouth and throat and made me want to throw up!
What would you do differently?:

Regular Water, more training on hills!!
Transition 2
  • 00m 35s
Comments:

This was the most simple for me because I didn't have bike pedal clips so I was already in my running shoes. I just wore my biking shorts while I ran too, so I had no changing to do.
Run
  • 32m 56s
  • 3 miles
  • 10m 59s  min/mile
Comments:

First mile was DEFINITELY the hardest. My legs just didn't want to move and I couldn't get my breath. But the second and third mile went more smoothly.
What would you do differently?:

I'm going to run a few 5Ks to get more acquainted with running. Running is my LEAST favorite of the 3 portions!
Post race
Warm down:

None.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training...but I wasn't concerned about that cuz all I wanted to do was figure out how a triathlon works and at least finish. Now that I know, I will train much harder and try to beat my times next time!

Event comments:

For as much as I paid for this ($95), it could have been sooo much better. I have done 5Ks before and they have tons of food and entertainment afterwards. This race had a small table of random food on it from the grocery store. No catered food or entertainment. I definitely was disappointed by that. But I still had a BLAST!! :)
