Comments: I had to walk twice, my pace was too fast to start and I promised I wouldn't do that. It was hard to run my own pace at the beginning as I think I started too far back in the crowd. What would you do differently?: Not have smoked for 24 years and looking to buy a new set of lungs. Post race
Warm down: Drank 12oz Accelerade and ate an orange. Stayed cool with a towel to dry off, didn't walk off as long as I wanted to. After the race took a shower at home and went out to eat. Ended up with a headache and took a nap when I got home. What limited your ability to perform faster: My cardio needs work. I'm only two months into this off of the couch and my lungs are getting a workout. My muscles and joints feel great, it's my lungs that are hurting. Ate oatmeal and a banana. Drank 160z water 1.5 hours before. Peed at the last minute even though I hadn't drank any liquids for 1.5 hours before and already peed.
Light stretching, ran a hundred yards or so.
